Twelve angry men review

The fact that he wears a white suit, and begins the evening staring pensively out of the window, implies he is not quite as other men. Persistently and persuasively, he forces the other men to slowly reconsider and review the shaky case and eyewitness testimony against the endangered defendant.

He votes not guilty and what follows is a chain of events that will test the views, beliefs and thoughts of the other 11 members. The twelve jurors retire to the jury room, having been admonished that the defendant is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

It is easy to be mesmerized by this writing and acting, and miss the rare accomplishment of the camera-work. Sign in to vote. It also strikes me as bizarre that the accused boy's defence lawyer, admittedly a court appointee, never questioned the flimsily circumstantial case against him.

If however, there is no reasonable doubt, then you must in good conscience find the accused guilty. He had of course superb acting talent at his disposal although some of the most memorable performances are from the lesser players.

Most of what we see today is monologues pretending to be conversations. I urge you all, if you have not yet seen this film, please do so now.

Juror 3 Lee J. All of these criteria were fulfilled. But, although it remains a humane and highly efficient piece of entertainment, it is also beginning to show its age. It is easy to be mesmerized by this writing and acting, and miss the rare accomplishment of the camera-work.

Do we have a filmmaker today who could do this. The frightened, teenaged defendant is on trial, as well as the jury and the American judicial system with its purported sense of infallibility, fairness and lack of bias.
